NEW SOUNDS

NEW MUSIC for you
I have just posted a new tune, or more appropriately, jam (based on a theme) called ONE MORE GROOVE which you can hear clicking Music
It's kind of an ambient, trance, groove, beat-like (I don't know what to call it) which you may even be able to dance to. Hope you like it. Drop me a line and let me know.

NEW SOUNDS

Music is like soup. (Ever hear that before??)
The longer it sits, the better it gets. I've posted some new
music samples of more recent vintage. Some of the songs (UNTITLED)
are not new songs, but new performances which have either mellowed,
changed, metamorphosed (or morphed, if you prefer), into something
new, different and/or interesting. So follow the link, and
I hope you enjoy the Music

Yo-Yo and Me

The Video

. . . that greets you on my home page features one of the great tunes from FOR THE RIDE called "Meteors".
Taped and produced by soon-to-be film-making legend Russell Jozwiak, this tidbit gives you but a taste of what
you can expect from FOR THE RIDE. So please, secure your own copy from www.cdbaby.com REAL SOON.

Chapter Three

Except for the occasional but brief sideways glance in my direction, she never really responded to my monologue.
But nevertheless I felt compelled to go on as if the entire world (no, make that universe) hung on my every word. I was the
CRITICS’ CHOICE; the center of attention; the main attraction . . . and all in spite of her seeming indifference. No, maybe because
of her indifference. I just didn’t know. I didn’t know much of anything anymore. Where was this bus going anyway? What was I doing
there? Somehow nothing made much sense at that moment. I couldn’t remember where I came from, where I was, how I got there, where
I was headed or why. Why? Why? Why? I was a small child again. Clinging to my mother’s mom-sized hand with my little one,
half running to keep up with her as she hastily carried this large, heavy blue box to some unknown destination. A small child
listening to the reedy twang of the old-country folk dances my father played on select Sunday afternoons from music books containing
languages that, although I couldn’t yet read, still appeared foreign and photographs of staid, somber musicians that seemed even older
than my grandparents. A small child clambering up the shelf-height wall/shelf surrounding the pavilion at Breezy Point to get a glimpse
of the ‘teenagers’ dancing to the loud, joyous, percussive strains of LET’S HANG ON with their dirty feet and wet swimsuits. To be
so grown-up! But now I AM grown-up. At least physically I’m grown-up. In other ways, I’m not always quite so sure. And sometimes
I even think that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, what are the chances that I’ll ever be on this bus again, going to the same
destination, same wet feet and same depressing weather? What are the chances that I’ll experience ALL the same things and sit next to
this same person? WHAT ARE THE CHANCES? When will my monochromatic, comatose, CHROMATOSE sliver of a life ever produce
the circumstances that will result in this very same experience ever again????? As this fickle thought crossed my manic
little mind I noticed she was looking at me. Full-face-head-turned-in-my-direction looking at ME! And she was smiling.
Then she rose to exit the bus and slowly turned her face toward me one last time and said, “Thanks. . . FOR THE RIDE.”

COMING SOON

'. . . FOR THE RIDE.' What did she mean by that? We were both on a bus for crying out loud. Of course she was there for the
ride. So was I. But the tone of her voice and the unusual inflection she gave the words colored that phrase with something odd. There was more
to her statement than mere words but I just couldn't PUT A FINGER ON IT. Was she actually letting me into just a little bit of her life? My own
life had evolved, no make that devolved into a muddy morass of hellish habit and rusty routine. Things started off so grandly. I had POTENTIAL!.
Reach for the stars the sky's the limit king of the hill top of the heap nothing's gonna stop you anything you want grab the gusto make it happen
be all that you can be never say die name in lights be a star household word famous big colossal. I heard all the clichés from many contributors.
Ultimately GET A JOB!!! won out. Truth be told though, the 'job' thing was not really bad advice and I knew it. There was at the same time, a
small flame inside that burned to make a mark in the big bad world of music. Yes there was. If only that flame were enough to dry my soaking wet
feet right now. I told her that I ride the same bus across town every day and I'd never seen her before. She half-smiled and listened less as she
stared through the streaks and drops at the gray city out the bus window, but I didn't mind. I had a seat and a captive audience. I'm usually a
little more reserved with strangers; especially when they're of the opposite sex, but for some strange reason, and in spite of the absence of any
substantial feedback from her, I felt uncharacteristically at ease. I rambled, ". . . really an unjust war; . . . something should be done; . . .
maybe the straw is just my form of rebellion against convention," I found myself saying. What kind of power had this mysterious stranger exerted
over me? I was babbling like some adolescent schoolgirl. We RODE on. (still more later)

COMING SOON

That shade of gray that old battleships wore was the ceiling over my world that morning. April showers may bring May flowers, but all I
knew was that my feet were turning blue from the dye on my new socks inside my Florsheims as I attempted to avoid the great lakes-sized
puddles on Pratt Street. The mortgage was due and they're telling me that gas will be five dollars a gallon by August and here I am off
to my mundane livelihood that casual party acquaintances hear about when they ask 'what do YOU do?' What do YOU do indeed. The dirty
drops from the splash of the transit bus' arrival in front of me stirred me from my morose daydream. As I relieved myself of a soaked
dollar bill and some change I glanced toward the busload of sad and sleepy faces to scout out an empty seat. Only one was left. I
straightened myself quickly after meticulously placing the drenched umbrella at my feet and noticed her next to me. She was a dark-haired,
dark-eyed streak of glorious, scorching sunlight on that dour dishcloth of a day. And as difficult as it was without benefit of rye or
bourbon, I steeled myself enough to say simply and stupidly, 'what's your destination?' She looked out the window forlornly and said
barely above a whisper, "I'm here FOR THE RIDE." (more later)

The weather on April 11 was an improvement over April 5, 2006.

Left a wish on one of Yoko Ono's "Wish Trees" which she donated IN PERSON
a few days before my apprearance. (An honest oversight on her part, I'm sure.)
Sorry I missed you, Yoko.

Please note below: You're not doing much "Popping"!

Seems it will take place the second weekend in September. More as it develops.

BIOGRAPHY
I have been playing music in some form or fashion ever since I could talk (maybe earlier), and remember rather
well when the Beatles became popular in America. My first records being 45 and 78rpm wonders that would probably be
worth a fortune now, were until then cartoon theme songs, childrens novelty tunes or inexpensive cutouts that my
mother found during shopping sprees. But then the Beatles (of whom my Polish great uncle and myself were equally
knowledgeable-meaning NOT MUCH) took the country by storm. When my mother bought me the SHE LOVES YOU and
I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND singles, THAT was really my first serious step into music. But the strange marriage of
the Beatles (and other circa 1964 top-forty) and cartoon themes, childrens novelty songs and cutouts ALL stuck with me.
And my approach to and absorption of music has been that way ever since.

Conventional music lessons began as a result of a telephone solicitation received at our home from a young entrepreneur
who was opening an "Accordion Studio" in the neighborhood. Being of good, solid Polish stock, the accordion seemed to
be a good match for me. But not only did I thoroughly enjoy playing polkas, obereks and waltzes, I also learned some
international folk music and some classics (the early stages of World Music, you see) and learned to play many of the
current pop tunes by ear. This was to be my modus operandi for the next 40 years.

After many youthful years of playing in 'bands' (or some gathering of schoolhood chums beating on lunch boxes or blowing
grimy kazoos) I joined a 'combo' during high school to provide a 'Mix' (Yes, we originated that TOO!) of music for wedding
receptions, social club dances and American Legion affairs. Invaluable experience it was also; if not musically, at least
in social pheonomena. After 5 glorious years, I quit the band and quietly settled down, purchasing a piano shortly afterward
and beginning the current stage of my musical development. I was writing 'Pop' songs (music and lyrics) and marketing them
to performers for my first, boss, hit-bound single.

Meantime, my sons suggested I play my original compositions on solo piano, like I did everyday in the living room,
and market THAT. So that's exactly what I began doing, and intend to continue doing forever and ever, Amen.

Please send me an Email with comments, suggestions, thoughts etc. I would love to hear from you.
