Ray Jozwiak: Just More Music By Ray Jozwiak

Newly arrived, April 2, 2013 - BLACK & WHITE THEN BACK. . . (check it out)
Ray Jozwiak: Black & White Then Back

Oho - live at SHLONGTASM XXX in January, 2013 playing my composition 'Blood Brother'. . .

The video that used to greet you on the site was recorded at the Woodrow Wilson House in Washington DC. The Steinway is a gorgeous, old, beautifully crafted instrument which is not done justice by the sound quality of the recording. . . but maybe it'll help you get the idea. Here it is in case you missed it.

In case you didn't make it to Bread & Circuses Bistro Friday last week to hear OHO, . . . LIMOUSINE (Oho Live from Bread & Circuses [pimples and all])

A little 'house concert' for you. . .

A Message from Rod Deacey
At Brewer's Alley this Monday evening, May 23, we welcome back one of the area's star acoustic guitarists and songwriters, JACK BOND, for another selection of his great Americana songs. Jack spent some time in Nashville and some Music City has rubbed off on him, too -- his easy vocals recall Country's golden age. He is in demand as a guitarist and often plays here with Dulcie Taylor as well as playing solo. Come and watch his technique if you play guitar. He will either inspire you or make you want to put your guitar in the next garage sale…!
Rockin' Ray Jozwiak will be playing the piano prelude this week-download his new collection of tunes! We also have three-song visits from now Hagerstown resident (but we still consider him Frederick's own) Doug Alan Wilcox, plus the excellent Rick Windon and Todd's pick, Brett Barry-another Nashville escapee. As usual, we'll be hearing from our regulars, poet John Holly, Tomy Wright and Todd C. Walker, plus, of course, Mister Ron Goad who missed last week due to exhaustion, as he chases his goal of 500 gigs in 2011!
Remember, if you are not yet a member of F.A.M.E. (Frederick Acoustic Music Enterprise), I have application forms at Monday Night Showcases, and Todd C. Walker and Tomy Wright have forms at their open mics and songfests. I have some shirts with me, too, on Mondays, so you can join and get one, or buy one for $12. Support local acoustic music. We need the money for putting on events!
See you Monday night at Brewer's Alley. We can't do it without you! Rod Deacey

ANOTHER SHOT contains a collection of

sound essays including a Dead-ish funk-jam, a solo jazz-inflected

waltz; a Steely Dan-inspired tale of woe complete with vocal; meditative, ambient, new-agey piano solo displaying some bluesy, Monk-ish chops; an epic, atmospheric, groove evoking the gamut of emotions (and sampled instruments) from Alpha to Zed; rounded out by a romping, rhythmic celebration of joy.

Variety is the spice of life. No doubt about it. The spice in my musical life currently is my participation in the wonderful group MYSTIC I. MYSTIC I is a quintet (Lisa Griffee-vocals, Kirsten Smith-guitar, vocals, Jay Graboski-guitar, vocals, Ted Staley-drums and yours truly-piano) that plays spiritual - NOT religious - but spiritual music. When presented with the opportunity to participate in this inspirational endeavor by my dear musical friend of many years (Ful Treatment, 1975) Jay Graboski, I could not refuse. Watch the CALENDAR to see where you can catch us!
